Day 1 - Arrival in PHOBJIKHA

Best time to visit PHOBJIKHA VALLEY

The best time to visit PHOBJIKHA VALLEY depends on the type of experience the guests are wanting. Phobjikha valley temperature varies from time to time.

Winter - November to March

This is the best time for bird watching especially to see the black necked cranes. The cool weather also adds to the unique atmosphere of the valley with clear and crisp skies and the chance to see the valley blanketed in snow.

Spring - April to May

The weather is mild and less tourist around this time. Spring is an excellent time to visit. The valley comes alive with wildflowers and fresh greenery.

Autumn - September to October

Summer - June to August

While it is the monsoon season PHOBJIKHA is less prone to rain as compared to other parts of Bhutan. However some outdoor activities might be limited due to occasional downpour.

Winters (December–February) are cold, with temperatures dropping to -5°C to 10°C, sometimes bringing frost and occasional snowfall. Spring (March–May) sees mild temperatures ranging from 5°C to 15°C, with blooming landscapes. Summers (June–August) are pleasant, with temperatures between 10°C and 20°C, though occasional monsoon showers occur. Autumn (September–November) offers crisp air and temperatures from 5°C to 15°C, making it one of the best times to visit. The valley’s cool climate makes it a perfect destination for nature lovers and birdwatchers.
